Meet Sharnelle Patterson

About Sharnelle Patterson

Sharnelle Patterson is a wellness coach, professional dancer, and rehabilitation specialist with over 15 years of experience in behavioral health and community-based services. She holds an Associate of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Behavioral Analysis, which ground her practice in both theory and applied science. Her career spans intensive mental health treatment, ABA therapy, case management, and re-entry services — helping children, young adults, and families navigate challenges and build lasting resilience.

Early in her career, Sharnelle was specifically requested to join the bilingual team after completing her ninety-day probation, where she provided three years of intensive mental health services in bilingual settings. This experience deepened her ability to serve diverse communities with cultural sensitivity and adaptability.

Her journey with movement began long before her professional training. Raised in the church by two grandmothers who were both pastors, Sharnelle grew up immersed in faith, community, and performance. Praise dance became her earliest form of expression, and by her teenage and young adult years she was choreographing Easter, Thanksgiving, and other church programs in both California and St. Louis. These roots continue to shape her artistry and her commitment to dance as a vehicle for healing, storytelling, and connection.

Beyond her clinical expertise and early experiences, Sharnelle has also completed multiple fitness certifications and specialty trainings. She is a formerly licensed Zumba® Instructor, with completed certifications in the Zumba Weight Loss and Nutrition Program and several specialty formats, including African Dance-inspired Zumba® and Zumba Strong® (STRONG Nation®). She is also trained in Extreme Hip-Hop®, a high-energy aerobics program that merges hip-hop culture with step fitness. These experiences reflect her strong foundation in aerobics- and conditioning-based training and her ability to design engaging, culturally relevant, and results-driven movement practices.

From providing therapeutic skill-building as a Rehabilitation Specialist, to guiding families through housing stability, wraparound services, and advocacy in court or medical systems, Sharnelle has worked at every level of care. Her expertise also extends into early childhood development through her work as an Infant Specialist and certifications in Zumbini and Infant Massage.

In this course, Sharnelle draws from her clinical background, faith-rooted dance journey, and passion for movement-based healing to guide you through practical strategies for growth. Through communication tools, goal-setting exercises, and mindfulness practices, you’ll gain the confidence and resilience to overcome obstacles and achieve your personal and professional goals.
